City Map · Ink Edition
Eight hundred years of street pattern reduced to the essential — the Thames, the parks, the lines you know by feel.
View edition →Original poster maps of the cities you have loved and the routes you have run — drawn with restraint, printed on cotton-pulp paper, framed in solid oak.
We make street maps you can live with. Each poster is redrawn by hand — the type, the line weights, the way a river ought to bend — until the place looks the way it feels, not just the way it is.
Urban Lines was founded in London in 2024 to make cartographic art for people who love the cities they live in and the races they have run. We work in small editions, and we refuse to compromise on the three things that matter: the drawing, the paper, and the ink.
Every edition is giclée-printed on archival cotton-pulp, signed and numbered. Framed pieces come in solid oak or blackened ash, shipped in custom honeycomb crates worldwide. If you do not love it, we will take it back.
Boston — Personalised marathon route, noir edition.
Every city begins as open-source data — OpenStreetMap, the public record. We redraw it, line by line, removing what we do not need and leaning into the shapes a place is remembered by: the river, the parks, the avenue where you lived.
Each draft is proofed on a 12-colour Epson giclée and printed on 310 gsm cotton-pulp — acid-free, archival, warm to the touch. Editions are signed and numbered by the studio.
